Hi! My name is Chevy Laurent and I’m your NAMASTRONG coach. I’m so excited to welcome you to this exciting new fitness program that I created just for you! Let me first start by saying I’m so grateful you are taking the time to visit this page and learn more about how Namastrong is the perfect solution to help you look and feel stronger in every aspect of your life.
Now, let me tell you a little about myself; cuz if you’re anything like me, you want to know that your trainer is not just a self-proclaimed “fit-fluencer,” but actually someone who is trained, certified, and experienced, before making the commitment to work with them. So I want you to rest assured that I’m a real full-time fitness coach, small business owner, and trainer based in Los Angeles, California. In a nutshell, I’m a National Academy of Sports Medicine Certified Personal Trainer (NASM-CPT) & Certified Nutrition Coach (NASM-CNC), Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga Teacher (E-RYT), and I’m a certified group fitness instructor in various modalities. Whew! Now that you know who I am, at least a little better, let’s talk about the NAMASTRONG Program and how its going to help you look and feel stronger and more confident than ever — in every aspect of your life!
I dreamed up the NAMASTRONG program, during the COVID-19 global pandemic. I was stressed and anxious and feeling like lockdowns and mandates were dominating my LIFE. I remember feeling unexpectedly, overly emotional at times, and the lack of control with regards to what I could, and couldn’t do in my city and state seemed to spiral into every aspect of my life. I was feeling out of control. And despite being a fitness professional, and knowing better, I was regularly eating huge portions of high calorie comfort foods, and I was drinking wine almost every night just to be able to cope, relax and sleep. Whats worse, is that even after a full nights rest, when I woke up every morning I felt extremely tired, sluggish throughout the day and I didn’t feel as confident in my body as I used to. I remember the moment, when I went into my closet and realized that none of my clothes fit properly. Literally everything was too tight, wouldn’t zip up, or just “felt uncomfortable.” And I remember convincing myself that I must’ve shrunk certain clothes in the wash! But the reality was not that the clothes shrunk, I had gotten bigger. And I hadn’t realized the extent of it because my beloved stretchy leggings and athletic apparel that I wear everyday for work, had continued to stretch and accommodate my then ever-growing frame.
My turning point happened in January of 2021, when I stepped on the scale for the first time in years. And let me clarify here –Yes– I do get weighed at the doctor, but I pride myself on not looking when I’m there. I don’t like the idea of getting caught up in the numbers. So that January was my first time weighing myself in the privacy of my own home in years; and when I stepped on the scale the number that I saw shook me to my core. I remember being shocked and in utter disbelief. And while I won’t share my weight then, or my weight now, as I really don’t want the focus to be on the numbers, the fact I had to face, was that I needed to make a change. So that day, I designed and put myself through my NAMASTRONG program and my results were AMAZING. Not only did I lose 20 pounds in just under 12 weeks, in that same time frame, I felt mentally and physically stronger and more confident than ever! I felt more calm and ready to take on every aspect of my life with a positive mindset, and boundless creative energy.
Now here’s my disclaimer — these results were my results. So to be crystal clear, I am sharing my experience on the NAMASTRONG program, and I am in no way making a promise that your results will be the same. (Ya girl, coach Chevy did go to law school so she’s not afraid to add a little disclaimer here and there lol!) You may lose more weight than I did. You may look leaner, and your clothes fit better but gain scale weight (due to increased muscle mass). You may experience no change in weight whatsoever. The point is that with this program you will FEEL Strong AF and when you look at yourself in the mirror you will know you are NAMASTRONG AF!
So now you’re probably starting to wonder who is this program for? Well, first lets talk logistics. At the time, when I started this program, I remember my husband and I had just invested in some pretty serious home gym equipment so that’s what I primarily used (Smith Machine, Dumbbells, Barbells etc) so these workouts are great for you if you have access to a gym, have a well stocked home gym, or access to another space where you have some or all of the basics (think free weights, loop bands, a kettle bell, a barbell etc). But even if you have little to no equipment, you can still CRUSH these workouts as I will always do my best to offer modifications, suggestions for equipment based workouts. And bonus — some workouts within the program are designed for max results with zero equipment.
The best part about the NAMASTRONG program is that you won’t be alone. That’s right girl! I want to literally be able to see you, connect with you, and offer real time love and support, so we will be doing weekly live workouts together on zoom! The workouts will also be available on-demand if you can’t make the live.
